The Beggar King And The Search For Happiness
Sometimes it is refreshing to read a simple, nice book without a lot of personal investment (time, emotions) and come away uplifted and slightly better. This is that kind of book. I read it because I checked it out for my sister to read on her spring break for her ward book group and she liked it. The author, Ben Izzy is a Jewish professional storyteller who uses fables to illustrate his personal story. Through timeless stories from many different cultures and his own enlightenment after losing his voice from a surgery to remove cancer, I felt like I was let in on a little secret on how to become happy in spite of the world shouting at me that it is impossible.
